Erindale

Located in West-Central Mississauga, just along the east side of the Credit River, you’ll find Erindale. This area’s development began back in 1822, though it wasn’t given its current name until 1990. In the early days, it was known largely as a shopping hub for travellers going back and forth between York (now Toronto) and Hamilton. Today, this charming neighbourhood is so much more.

Erindale provides a mix of luxurious multi-million-dollar homes and older semi-detached bungalows. Put simply, there are some wonderful opportunities for a wide variety of buyers here. Located just southeast of the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus, the area is perfectly-situated for students. If that weren’t enough, its tree-lined streets, public parks, and proximity to the Credit River make it a naturally-beautiful place to live.

While Erindale has its share of affluent homeowners, you’ll find a mix of residents here. Local retirees enjoy the peacefulness of the area—and many of them live in relatively humble (and very well-cared-for) homes.

Between its picturesque streets, green spaces, and views of the Credit River, Erindale is the definition of scenic. When it comes to the great outdoors, local favourites include Erindale Park (a 222-acre space that includes plenty of great picnic spots) and Riverwood Park (which features beautiful creeks, trails, and ravines).

The Grange—also known as the Robinson-Adamson House—is a historic home that’s been standing since 1828. This local attraction is now home to Heritage Mississauga, and hosts art exhibits, historic tours, and other events.

There’s no shortage of schools within the Erindale area, including the highly-reputable Ellengale and Hawthorn public schools. McBride Public School, Queenston Drive Public School, and Springfield Public School are other solid local options.
