About Applewood
Applewood is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Mississauga, and it has a rich history. Once home to an abundance of apple orchards, this now-vibrant community was largely rural until the early 1950s. It was then developed by G.S. Shipp & Son, a family business that helped turn the area into an in-demand suburb.
Located in the southeast part of the city, Applewood is just a short drive from both Downtown Mississauga and Toronto’s west end. This close-knit community is made up of three major regions: Applewood Hills, Applewood Heights, and Applewood Acres.
Here, you’ll find many bungalows and two-storey homes, along with a selection of condo buildings and townhouses. Fortunately, given the many public parks and nature trails in Applewood, condo owners won’t be wanting for outdoor space.
