About Cooksville
The community of Cooksville is named after James Cook, a well-known businessman who settled in the area in the early 19th century. One of its biggest claims to fame is the fact that it was home to the first commercial winery in Canada (the Clair House Winery). In 1968, Cooksville joined up with neighbouring villages to form Mississauga.
Located in the heart of the city, this lively community is close to the action. It has an urban feel, thanks to its high population density and abundance of high-rise and condo buildings. Of course, that’s not all you’ll find when it comes to local homes.
